Our teachers have been selected for their sensitivity, enthusiasm and knowledge. We only work with teachers we know and trust:

Lucia Cockcroft
Yoga Abode editor Lucia Cockcroft, a yoga and mindfulness meditation teacher and wellbeing writer, first discovered yoga 15 years ago. Lucia gained her first teaching qualification while living and studying in northern California with the Sivananda school of yoga.  She has since studied with leading yoga and meditation teachers, including Judith Lasater, Sarah Powers, Bo Forbes, Jason Crandell, Jon Kabat-Zinn and Christina Feldman. She is a registered Relax and Renew Trainer®. Lucia is passionate about the ability of yoga and meditation to transform on many levels, and believes these practices should be accessible to all.

Jodie Merrick
Jodie Merrick completed her Yoga Alliance 200 hour Teacher Training certificate in 2006, and has since studied yoga all over the world, with highly regarded teachers such as Seane Corn and Shiva Rea. Jodie teaches with enormous energy and enthusiasm, as well as with attention to alignment and safety. She encourages her students to find their highest potential, regardless of their age or ability.

Shamash Alidina
Shamash Alidina: Shamash is one the UK’s leading professional mindfulness trainers and coaches. He is international bestselling author of ‘Mindfulness For Dummies' and has been featured on TV, and in newspapers, magazines, and radio shows internationally. 

Shamash trained to be a Mindfulness Teacher with the Centre of Mindfulness at Bangor University and has trained with Jon Kabat-Zinn, as well as attending retreats with the Dalai Lama and Thich Nhat Hanh, one of the world's foremost teachers and practitioners of mindfulness.

Anja Brierley Lange
is a Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher (RYT500) known for her attentive, fun and creative approach to yoga. Anja’s classes encourage people to feel empowered and is an inspired combination of physical dynamic movement, breath and meditative practice integrating creative sequencing and safe alignment. She has trained with and is inspired by teachers such as Seane Corn and Shiva Rea. Anja is also an Ayurvedic Practitioner and founder of

Darren Cooper
Darren Cooper is the co-founder of Satvada Retreats. With over 15 years experience of yoga and meditation, Darren has been privileged to have studied with leading yoga teachers, including: Jason Crandel, Simon Low, Tara Frasier, Norman Blair and Paul Dallaghan.

Darren is currently completing his teacher training with London based Yoga Campus.
