Yin/yang yoga retreat, Morocco

@ Hotel Tigmi, near Marrakech

November 9 - 13, 2012

Fancy escaping the grey British Winter with some yoga and relaxation in the sun? November in Morocco sees average temperatures in their early 20s celcius, plus seven hours of sunshine - yet Marrakech is a 3.5 hour hop by plane from London with Easyjet, BMI or Ryanair.

This November, we are delighted to be running our fourth yin/yang yoga break to the spectacular Hotel Tigmi, 30 minutes from Marrakech. Tucked away in countryside half hour from Marrakech, this chic, much-loved hideaway is somewhere between a traditional Riad and a boutique hotel.

Meandering corridors and tucked-away courtyards hide a stunning collection of rooms, terraces, gardens and two swimming pools. This landscape of banana palms, cirtus trees and bougainvillea radiates sunlight and warmth. There is space and quiet in abundance.

Each of the impressively large rooms is beautifully, and individually decorated with handcrafted Berber furnishings, cushions, covers and wall hangings - a true retreat. Open fireplaces, luxurious shampoo and body products complete the feeling that you are somewhere very special indeed.

Yoga on the roof terrace, with Atlas mountain views
Weather permitting, the two daily yoga classes will be taken in the coverered upstairs terrace, with its panoramic Atlas mountain and countryside views.

The dynamic vinyasa flow morning class will be at around 8.30am, while the later Restorative Yoga and meditation session will take place at about 5.30pm. If the sun has gone in, we will take the yoga indoors, in front of an open fire.

Both classes will be suitable for people of all yoga experience and backgrounds. The morning's vinyasa flow class will be taught be experienced London-based teacher Anja, while the early evening class will be led by Satvada director, Lucia (further teacher details below).
